Modern Coastal Living

What is modern coastal living?

Modern coastal living takes the ease of a house by the sea and drops the clichés. Think light, natural materials – linen, teak, rattan, stone – in sand, white and sea-glass tones, with clean lines instead of anchors and ship wheels.

Outside, life moves to the patio: a fire pit, a good grill, chairs you can leave out all summer. At the table it means the Mediterranean way of eating: olive oil, grilled fish, vegetables and bread, shared slowly.

Pesciu brings the three together. The name is Corsican for fish – a nod to the coast and to the grill. Start with the modern coastal style guide, the coastal patio ideas or whole fish, Andalusian espeto style.

Questions readers ask

What is modern coastal living?

A relaxed way of living inspired by the coast: natural materials, light colors and clean lines at home, life outdoors, and simple Mediterranean food.

How is modern coastal different from beach house decor?

It keeps the calm palette and natural textures but skips the themed decor – fewer shells and anchors, more linen, wood and stone. The style guide shows how.

How does Pesciu choose products?

We set the criteria first – materials, size, weight, how a product handles sun, salt and wind – and then name the products that meet them. We only say tested when we have used a product ourselves.

Where the information comes from

Product details come from the manufacturers, specialist retailers and the Amazon listings. We compare them, read owner reviews and say plainly who a product suits and who it does not. We only call something tested when we have used it ourselves. We earn a commission on purchases made through our links; it has no influence on which products we show or what we say about them.
