About Pesciu

Pesciu is the Corsican word for fish. We liked it because it sounds like the coast: salt on your skin, a grill by the water, a long table in the evening light.

Calm colors, natural materials, food that comes off the fire and goes straight to the table.

What Pesciu is

A guide to modern coastal living the way southern Europe does it – calm colors, natural materials, food that comes off the fire and goes straight to the table. No anchors on every wall, no gadgets you will never use. We cover four things: outdoor living, barbecue and grilling, the Mediterranean kitchen and coastal furniture.

Who writes it

Pesciu is written by Thorsten Lind, who runs several independent guide sites from Düsseldorf, Germany. He is not a chef or an interior designer; he compares products the way you would before buying something you will live with for years – with the specifications in front of him and an eye for what will still look good in five summers.

How we choose products

  • We set the criteria first: materials, size, weight, how a product handles sun, salt and wind, and what owners report after a season of use.
  • We take specifications from the manufacturers, specialist retailers and the shop listings and name the source under each product.
  • We only call a product tested when we have used it ourselves. Everything else is explained in a section called How we chose.
  • We show only products sold in your country's Amazon store or by our partner shops, so nothing on the page is out of reach.

How we earn

Through affiliate links: when you buy through a link marked with an asterisk, the shop pays us a small commission. The price does not change for you, and no brand pays to be on a list. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Food, not medicine

Our Mediterranean pages are about cooking and eating well, not about health effects. If you follow a diet for medical reasons, talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian.
